Can you tell me where my property boundary with the City is so I may cut down a tree or erect a fence?
Yes we can help you. Contact the City Surveyor at 250.361.0449 for assistance.
Can you help me find my property line with my neighbour or settle a dispute?
No. The City does not become involved with property line disputes between neighbours. For help resolving such a dispute, call the Dispute Resolution Centre at 250.383.4412. To have your property re-surveyed you must call a BC Land Surveyor.
Can you give me a site improvements survey of a lot for mortgage purposes?
No, we do not have copies of site improvement surveys. If there is a mortgage on the property, try contacting the bank for a copy of the mortgage survey. If you know the previous owner or survey company that surveyed the property in the past you could also contact them.
Why are there people surveying on my street?
If they are a City survey crew then call 250.361.0300 and we can provide you with that information.
Where can I get co-ordinate information or elevations on monuments or benchmarks?
This information is maintained by Geographic Data BC and may be obtained from their website.
Are there any easements on my property?
Call Engineering Assets and Infrastructure at 250.361.0539 and can help you with this information.
Can you tell me the Latitude and Longitude or UTM co-ordinates of a site?

Can I get a map showing the streets in the City of Victoria?

Can I get a map showing the street address of all the properties in Victoria?
Yes you can. Please call the Planning Department at 250.361.0382.
Can I get mapping information in a digital format?
Upon request, mapping data may be provided to consultants, engineers, architects and utility companies doing work within the City of Victoria. There is a charge for this data based on an established fee structure. To obtain digital information you can submit your request by filling in our Digital Mapping Information Request Form [PDF - 249 KB]. You can print and fax it to the Assets and Infrastructure Section at 250.361.0311 or simply hit the "Submit Form" button to have it emailed directly. The cost of the data and a time estimate to complete the request will then be returned to the applicant by either fax or email.
