Economic development is fundamental to a healthy and sustainable city.

In order to pursue our larger community goals such as creating affordable housing and ending homelessness, building a more robust transit system, and investing in our vibrant downtown and neighbourhood villages, we need a strong economy to work from.
 

Economic Development Strategy

The Economic Development Strategy [PDF - 1.5 MB] has been developed to strengthen and diversify the local economy and identify opportunities that are focused on environmental services, green technology, sustainable building strategies and environmentally-friendly sectors of the economy.

Grants Program

In working towards the vision of being the most livable city in Canada, the economic, social and environmental elements of our community must be supported and nurtured. The City of Victoria grants program is one way of supporting this growth.
