Climate Action

The City of Victoria is responding to the climate crisis by taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen the community's ability to withstand the effects of climate change.

In March 2019, Victoria declared a climate emergency, recognizing the need for bold action to avoid the most severe impacts of climate change. The City is working hard to reach its goal of reducing community greenhouse gas emissions by 80 per cent compared to 2007 levels and transitioning to 100 per cent renewable energy by 2050.

Reaching these targets requires a collective effort, and residents play a crucial role by making choices that reduce community emissions.
