CN EcoConnexions Tree Planting

What: You are invited to celebrate the kick off of the CN EcoConnexions Tree Planting Program.  Thanks to kind support from CN’s EcoConnexions – From the Ground Up grant, TreeCanada and Canada 150, this year 200 trees will be planted in the City of Victoria.

Why: Please help us celebrate Earth Day and Canada’s 150 anniversary of Confederation by joining us in planting trees for future generations. Trees representing our local area, British Columbia, Canada and our First Nations will be planted.

When: Friday April 21, 2017,

  • Welcome and Tree Planting: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
  • Beacon Hill Park Nature Walk for school groups: 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: Beacon Hill Park, just north of Goodacre Lake.

Who: Join students from South Park School, government representatives and our donors for this special event.

Parking: Event parking is available on Douglas Street, Arbutus Way and in Beacon Hill Park.

RSVP: Please email engage@victoria.ca  if you or a representative of your organization will be in attendance by April 19.

Further information: You can learn more about how the City manages its urban forest at www.victoria.ca.  Did you know there are approximately 150,000 trees in our urban forest in Victoria?  The City of Victoria manages 33,000 of these trees within its parks and boulevards.
