Payment Options at City Parkades

Below is a list of the City’s five parkades and the methods of payment available at each. Learn more about parking at City parkades.

Bastion Square Parkade:

  • Pay attendant at exit gate
  • Pay in Lane pay station at exit gate
  • Express pay station at the second floor elevator/stairwell

Parkade attendants accept: coins, bills, credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.
Pay stations accept: coins, bills ($5, $10, $20) and credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.

Broughton Street Parkade:

  • Pay attendant at exit gate
  • Pay in Lane pay station at exit gate

Parkade attendants accept: coins, bills, credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.
Pay station accepts: coins, bills ($5, $10, $20) and credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.
Envelopes accept: coins, bills or cheques

Centennial Square Parkade:

  • Pay attendant at exit gate
  • Pay in Lane pay station (after hours) at exit gate
  • Or pay by envelope (after hours) at exit gate

Parkade attendants accept: coins, bills, credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.
Pay station accepts: coins, bills ($5, $10, $20) and credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.
Envelopes accept: coins, bills or cheques

Johnson Street Parkade:

  • Express pay station located inside entrance of parkade
  • Pay in Lane pay station at exit gate

Pay stations accept: coins, bills ($5, $10, $20) and credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.
(Note: The is no attendant on duty at Johnson Street Parkade.)

View Street Parkade:

  • Pay attendant at exit gate
  • Express pay station located at main floor elevator foyer

Parkade attendants accept: coins, bills,credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express), and cheques. No debit.
Pay station accepts: coins, bills ($5, $10, $20) and credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). No debit.

How to Use an "Express" Pay Station

Currently, the City offers an express pay station at three of its parkades: Bastion Square Parkade (second floor stairwell), Johnson Street Parkade (inside entrance of parkade), and View Street Parkade (main floor elevator foyer).

Express pay stations improve customer service, enabling you to pay for parking before you return to your vehicle, reducing payment wait times at the gate.

You can pay by coin, bills ($5, $10, $20 denominations) or credit card (MasterCard, VISA or American Express). Debit is not accepted.

Step 1: Before entering the parkade, take an entry ticket from the terminal. Keep the ticket with you when you leave the parkade.

Step 2: Pay on foot at the Express Pay Station when coming back to the the parkade, before returning to your vehicle.

Step 3: Insert your entry ticket into the Express Pay Station and follow the on-screen instructions. The pay station will calculate the cost of parking for you. 

Step 4:  Insert coins, bills or credit card. A receipt is automatically issued when paying by credit card. You have the option to select to receive a receipt when paying by coins or bills.

Step 5: Take your paid entry ticket and receipt with you. Hand your paid entry ticket to the parkade attendant at the exit gate.

Note: At the Johnson Street Parkade, insert your paid ticket into the exit gate pay station. 

How to Use a Pay in Lane Pay Station

The Pay in Lane pay stations at Broughton Street Parkade, Centennial Square Parkade, and Johnson Street Parkade are easy to use. You can pay by coin, bills ($5, $10, $20 denominations) or credit card (MasterCard, VISA or American Express). Debit is not accepted.

Note: The Pay in Lane pay station at Johnson Street Parkade exit is for use 24/7. The Pay in Lane pay stations at the exit of Broughton Street Parkade and Centennial Square Parkade are for use when the attendant is not on duty.

Step 1: Upon entering the parkade, take an entry ticket from the terminal. Keep the ticket as you'll need it to exit the parkade with your vehicle.

Step 2: When departing the parkade with your vehicle, insert your entry ticket into the Pay in Lane pay station at the exit gate.

Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions. The pay station will calculate the cost of parking for you. 

Step 4: Insert coins, bills or credit card. A receipt is automatically issued when paying by credit card. You have the option to select to receive a receipt when paying by coins or bills.

How to Pay by Envelope

If you return to your vehicle and find an envelope on the windshield, please provide payment in the marked Deposit Box at the exit gate. Parking rates are based on the time you entered the parkade. The rate is 50 cents per 15 minutes which can be paid by cash or cheque. Pay by envelope is available at Broughton Street and Centennial Square Parkades.
 

If you do not have the accurate amount due, payment can be dropped off the next day at a City parkade deposit box or at the Customer Service Counter at Victoria City Hall, weekdays from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., or mailed to City of Victoria Parking Services, #1 Centennial Square, Victoria, BC V8W 1P6.
