The Victoria Fire Department is committed to educating citizens on fire safety and prevention, and emergency preparedness.
School Program: Fire Station Tours
The Victoria Fire Department offers free tours of its firefighting apparatus to Victoria area schools and community groups at Fire Station 1, located at 1234 Yates Street.
Fire station tours are approximately 30 minutes in length and are offered daily year-round from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
A ratio of one adult to five children is required. Children must be five years of age or older to participate in a tour. There is no limit to the number of people in a group.
School children will receive information packages containing a coloring book or posters, stickers, tattoos, and fire safety information.
Child Passenger Seat Instruction
Ensure you know how to safely install your child passenger seat by attending a free, one-on-one information session offered by the Victoria Fire Department.
- Life-saving information on the installation of your child's passenger seat
- Which seats to use and when according to your child's weight and height
- How to check safety seats for defects
- About recent recalls on child safety seats
Your information session will take place at Fire Station 1 at 1234 Yates Street.
Please Note: Any required anchoring systems must be installed in your vehicle before you attend the information session. Please bring the child seat and vehicle manual with you. If you require installation services, please contact BCAA at 1.877.247.5551.
