Free Concerts in Beacon Hill Park Kick off June 21
June 17, 2013Stage in the Park comes alive each summer in Beacon Hill Park with a variety of free, outdoor musical performances. Join us for the popular Concerts in the Park series which kicks off Friday, June 21 with a performance by the Naden Band. Free concerts are offered on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and on holiday Mondays from 1:30 p.m. - 3:20 p.m. at the Stage in the Park, commonly known as the Cameron Bandshell. Whether you like folk, jazz or blues, or classical and swing, there's something for everyone. The Concerts in the Park series runs from June 21 to September 13, 2013. -

Discover "The Hands of Time" 150th Anniversary Public Artworks
June 6, 2013Twelve bronze sculptures of life-size hands engaged in activities that symbolize the Capital City's history and identity are now ready to be explored around downtown Victoria. On May 22, 2013, the community joined Mayor Dean Fortin, British Columbia-based artist Crystal Przybille, and Franc D'Ambrosio, a member of the City of Victoria Art in Public Places committee for the official unveiling of The Hands of Time public artwork which commemorates the City of Victoria's 150th anniversary of incorporation in 2012. Orca Mother and Calf Return to Downtown Victoria
May 29, 2013This morning, an orca mother and calf returned to make downtown Victoria their annual summer home. Surfacing, a four-metre tall and six-metre long garden display consisting of a mother and baby orca riding a wave, arrived by crane at the southeast corner of Humboldt and Government Streets. The display is designed to enhance downtown Victoria. -
