GottaCon 2014 Expands to New Downtown Location

Victoria's premier video game and hobby based gaming event, has grown again and is moving downtown in 2014.  The event which hosts over 1600 gamers will take place at the Victoria Conference Centre February 28 – March 2, 2014.

In partnership with the City of Victoria and the Victoria Video Game CEO Alliance, GottaCon 2014 will not only showcase the video gaming format enjoyed by gamers since 2009 but will also feature an industry component recognizing the video game industry in the Capital Region which is part of the $66 billion dollar industry worldwide in 2012 and is expected to grow to $78 billion in 2017.  In comparison, worldwide movie box office revenues in 2012 were $34.7 billion.

The Victoria Video Game CEO Alliance is a consortium of local video gaming companies including: DJArts Games, Kixeye, Microsoft Studios, In Light Entertainment, Kano/Apps, GameHouse, Zynga, Tiny Mob Games and Race Rocks 3D.

GottaCon is working with the Victoria Conference Centre to ensure that GottaCon 2014 will not only build on but exceed the successes of years past.  GottaCon has taken place at Pearkes Arena in years past. GottaCon is Victoria's premier hobby based gaming event hosting over 1600 national and international gamers and is in its 6th year.
