Candidate Profile Guide and Victoria Votes iPhone App Available Now

To assist voters in finding information about Victoria's candidates and to make informed choices in the 2014 Municipal Election, the City has produced a number of tools aimed at making information on the election easily accessible.

For the first time, the City has produced an online Candidate Profile Guide [PDF - 3.4 MB]. All candidates for Mayor and Council were given the opportunity to submit a brief candidate profile and photograph to let voters know more about themselves and their platforms. Eight candidates are running to fill the Mayor’s office, and 24 candidates are running to fill eight seats on Council.

The City has also refreshed the free Victoria Votes iPhone app for this year’s election, now available in the iTunes store. The app provides on-the-go information about where to vote, important dates, voting places, candidate names linking directly to candidate profiles online, and more.

General Voting Day for the Municipal Election will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Advance voting will be held at Victoria City Hall on Wednesday, November 5 and Monday, November 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. Advance voting opportunities will also be held at the University of Victoria on November 6 from noon to 4 p.m., and Our Place on November 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
