Candidates for Municipal Election Declared

As of 4 p.m. today, the Chief Election Officer for the City of Victoria has declared the following candidates for the City of Victoria municipal election on Saturday, November 15. Eight candidates are running to fill the Mayor’s office, and 24 candidates are running to fill eight seats on Council.

For the first time, the City of Victoria will be producing a Candidate Profile Guide to assist voters in finding information about Victoria’s candidates. All candidates for Mayor and Council have been given the opportunity to submit a brief candidate profile and photograph to let voters know more about themselves and their platforms. The guide will be available online as of October 17.

General Voting Day will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Advanced voting will be held at Victoria City Hall on Wednesday, November 5 and Monday, November 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. Advance voting opportunities will also be held at the University of Victoria on November 6 from noon to 4 p.m., and Our Place on November 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
