General Voting Day is Saturday, November 15

After a strong turnout for advance voting this year, voters in Victoria are encouraged to keep up the trend heading into tomorrow’s Municipal Election. General Voting Day will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Eligible voters and their “Future Voters” are welcome at any of the 12 Voting Places across the city. Bringing your children with you when you vote provides a great opportunity to talk about – and model – the importance of voting. Children under the age of 18 will receive a “Future Voter!” sticker, and all children under the age of 12 will also receive a colouring poster that they can return to be on display at City Hall during the month of December. One lucky colouring contest participant will be selected to sit as “Mayor for a Day” in January and learn more about how local government works.

On Saturday evening the Antechamber at City Hall will be open to the public starting at 7:30 p.m., and will serve as Election Headquarters, with results available after 8 p.m. For those who prefer to view the results at home, results will be webcast live for the first time.

Voters can access the Candidate Profile Guide, view a map of 12 Voting Places, download the free Victoria Votes iPhone app, find more information on ID requirements and voter eligibility, and view the results on Saturday night.
