Join Us to Paint-Out Graffiti in Tolmie Lane

Tomorrow, the City of Victoria along with VicPD, Saanich Police and a group of about 50 volunteers will join together for a large scale Graffiti Paint-Out of Tolmie Lane. It is the first step of a new community strategy to combat graffiti on Tomie Lane and the adjoining area of the Galloping Goose Trail.

The community is invited to help paint on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tolmie Lane is located on the border of Victoria and Saanich and is adjacent to the Galloping Goose Trail (south of Douglas and behind Alpha Street). All supplies will be provided.

In recent years, the accumulation of graffiti along Tolmie Lane has become very high, with more than 200 tags currently visible. Once the graffiti has been removed on Saturday, businesses in the area will remove any future graffiti.

Many of the volunteers attending the event will be staff from TELUS as the Graffiti Paint-Out is part of the annual TELUS Day of Giving activity. The group will also be joined by local area businesses, members of the community, and staff from local Target stores. Paint for the event has been donated by Home Depot and Cloverdale Paint.

We hope you can join us.
