#BIKETORIA Summit and Pop-Up Bike Lane Sunday

Victoria residents, cycle enthusiasts, and non-cyclists young and old are invited to attend Sunday’s #BIKETORIA events on Cook Street at Dallas Road and at the Victoria Conference Centre to kick off a one month conversation about the proposed 30 km network of new bike lanes for all ages and abilities in Victoria.
From 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1 the public is welcome and encouraged to bring their bike and try the pop-up protected bike lane at Cook Street and Dallas Road. Then later that day the #BIKETORIA Summit runs from 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Victoria Conference Centre and is open to everyone to participate.
International planning and cycling experts, Gil Penalosa, Founder and Chair of 8 80 Cities, and Mia Birk, CEO of Alta Planning + Design, will be speaking at the #BIKETORIA Summit along with Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps. Penalosa and Birk are part of an international team of cycling experts who are working to design a world-class bike network for Victoria. The team also includes local engineering and planning firm Urban Systems, as well as leading international cycling firm Gehl Architects.
