Greater Victoria Welcomes Home Local Pan Am and Parapan Am Athletes in Celebration of Sport

A welcome home for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games athletes will be held on Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Centennial Square.

The community is invited to join Mayor Lisa Helps in celebrating, BC’s Pan Am and Parapan Am athletes. Following remarks, athlete autograph and children’s activity stations will be set up from 1 p.m. - 2p.m. for all to enjoy.

Athletes attending the event will include athletes from Rugby Canada, Rowing Canada, Swimming Canada, Baseball Canada, and Para Athletics athlete Ness Murby and her guide Eve Fejes.

British Columbia athletes captured 63 medals at the 2015 Games. Two hundred athletes who live or train in British Columbia competed at the Games, representing nearly 30 per cent of the Canadian Pan Am Games Team.

This event is held in partnership with the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE), and Canadian Sport Institute Pacific.
