Join us December 1 for the Budget Town Hall

Join us on Thursday for the City’s Town Hall which will include an e-Town Hall component, to discuss the City’s draft 2017 budget. A Town Hall is a public meeting where citizens can come and voice their opinion on certain topics outside of a formal Council meeting.

This event provides the public an opportunity to provide feedback in person, or from the comfort of their own homes. Citizens can submit questions or comments prior to the Town Hall, or in real-time during the event, and then watch the webcast to listen for responses. Questions will be received via Facebook, Twitter using #victownhall, in person, online form, or by phone.

What:             Budget Town Hall
When:             Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for an open house.

It’s essential that citizens provide their feedback on spending priorities for 2017. The City’s budget determines levels of funding that will affect transportation, development, parks and recreation, and other important services that impact everyday life.

As presented in the draft financial plan, the 2017 operating budget totals $224.8 million and the capital budget totals $51 million.
