Visual Victoria Invites the Community to Reimagine Victoria’s Public Spaces
September 15, 2016
Residents and local business owners are invited to participate in Visual Victoria, to help reimagine Victoria’s downtown public spaces and rethink the way people get to the places they want to be.
Public spaces have played a significant role in creating Victoria’s identity and supporting urban vitality. In order to maintain its celebrated character, while identifying improvements to make Victoria even more vibrant, the City is refreshing its vision for the downtown.
Starting next week until early 2017, the City will be seeking feedback from the community on how downtown public spaces can be improved and what changes can be made to make it easier for residents and visitors find their way around downtown.
Community events will begin next week with a workshop providing participants an opportunity learn more, share local knowledge and insights about downtown Victoria, help identify what’s important to the community and ways to improve Victoria’s public spaces, as well as be a part of something exciting and transformative in the community. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the McPherson Theatre.
The community is also invited to drop by CityStudio Victoria at 742 Johnson Street to learn more and provide feedback every Thursday throughout the fall from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. starting Thursday, September 22.
