Holiday Season Hours and Parking

The following City of Victoria services will be observing the holiday season hours listed below. Police, Fire, and emergency streets and utility services are not affected by the holidays and can be contacted 24/7.

Beacon Hill Park Maintenance Yard

Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre
Enjoy Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre and keep active over the holidays with friends and family. Our holiday hours of operation are noted below. Join us on New Year's Day for a free Everyone Welcome Swim!

Saturday, December 23 - Regular hours 
Sunday, December 24 - Closes at 4 p.m. (Last admission at 3:30 p.m.) 
Monday, December 25 - Closed Christmas Day
Tuesday, December 26 - Closed Boxing Day
Sunday, December 31 - Closes at 4 p.m. (Last admission at 3:30 p.m.)
Monday, January 1 - New Year's Day free admission 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and Everyone Welcome Swim

Victoria Conference Centre and Administration Office
The Victoria Conference Centre and Administration Office will be closed the week of December 25 - 29, re-opening on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Kitchen Scraps and Garbage Collection
Residential kitchen scraps and garbage collection will not occur on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day. View your garbage and kitchen scraps collection schedule.

Saturday Garden Waste Drop-off
The Saturday Garden Waste Drop-off area at the Public Works Yard at 417 Garbally Road will be open from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. on December 23 and December 30. Please note that garbage is no longer accepted at the Public Works Yard.

Emergency Streets and Utilities Services
Emergency streets and utility services are not affected by the holidays and can be contacted day or night at 250.361.0400.

Parking 
Parking downtown at on-street meters and at City parkades will be FREE on the following days this holiday season:

Sunday, December 24 - Christmas Eve
Monday, December 25 - Christmas Day
Tuesday, December 26 - Boxing Day
Sunday, December 31 - New Year's Eve
Monday, January 1 - News Year's Day

Plan to celebrate New Year's Eve downtown? Leave your vehicle at a City parkade or on-street overnight as parking is free this New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Or leave your vehicle at home and take transit or a taxi. Be safe. Don't drink and drive. Learn more about parking downtown.

Note: Parking is payable at the City's three surface parking lots 24/7: Wharf Street parking lot, Royal Theatre parking lot, and Royal Athletic Park parking lot.
