Pandora Bike Lanes - July 2017

As the development at 1515 Douglas Street continues to progress, some work is required outside of the building footprint on Pandora Avenue (between Blanshard and Douglas) in order to connect utility services.

Starting July 4, a storm water main is being installed and will require temporary changes to the vehicle travel lanes and sidewalks until the end of the month. On Pandora Avenue, the two-way protected bike lane will be maintained with traffic control assistance. There will also be a temporary reduction to a single vehicle lane on Pandora with a no right turn restriction at Douglas Street.

General work hours to be 7am-7pm, work on Douglas Street will be limited to between 7am-3pm to avoid the afternoon/evening rush hour. Any work on Saturday is restricted to 10am-7pm and no work will take place on Sundays. During non-working hours, any open excavation areas impacting cycling or vehicle travel lanes will be closed with steel road plates that have been treated with a non-slip surface treatment and/or asphalted so that traffic flow will be restored to normal traffic patterns.

Cyclists can expect temporary delays along the Pandora Avenue bicycle facility and are reminded to yield to pedestrians and proceed with caution. Vehicle drivers can also expect some delays depending on travel lane closures and and time of day.
