Traffic Work on Pandora Next Week

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are advised that traffic signals will be shut down next week on Pandora Avenue at the intersections of Douglas and Blanshard Streets so electrical work can be completed.

On Tuesday, February 28 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., traffic at the intersection of Blanshard Street and Pandora Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. To minimize congestion, turns from Blanshard Street onto Pandora Avenue will be prohibited during this time.

On Thursday, March 2 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., traffic at the intersection of Douglas Street and Pandora Avenue will also be reduced to a single lane in each direction, and turns from Douglas Street onto Pandora Avenue prohibited.

Flag-persons will be present both days to direct vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians moving through the intersection. The lane closures and turning restrictions are necessary in order to safely control and maintain traffic flow. Safe pedestrian and wheelchair access will remain a priority.

The work is part of building Victoria’s first protected bike lanes along Pandora Avenue, expected to be open to the public this spring. More information on Victoria's cycling network is available here.
