Volunteer Fair: Explore Opportunities with Emergency Management Victoria

Are you community-minded and calm under pressure? Do you want to use your skills to give back to your community in an emergency situation? Emergency Management Victoria invites you to attend its Volunteer Fair to learn about its teams.

Volunteer Fair: Emergency Managment Victoria
Tuesday, April 25, 2017
5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
(Presentation at 6 p.m.)
Victoria City Hall

Volunteering with Emergency Management Victoria means you’ll be part of the action in an emergency. Depending on the team, you may be assisting evacuees, participating in urban search and rescue, transporting supplies by bike, providing radio communications support, administering first aid or assisting the City’s Emergency Operations Centre. You may also share emergency preparedness information at community events.

All volunteer training is provided free of charge to active team members. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and undergo an annual criminal record check. Volunteer teams include:

  • Emergency Social Services (Cyclist Response, Disaster First Aid)
  • Emergency Operations Centre Support
  • Urban Search and Rescue
  • Auxiliary (Radio) Communications

View displays, learn more and ask questions at our Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, April 25 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at City Hall. The first half-hour will provide an opportunity to meet representatives of each volunteer team, and a presentation will follow at 6 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
