Marketing: West Coast Celebrations

This project, in partnership with Tourism Victoria, provided enhanced marketing of arts and cultural activities in Victoria in 2005 – 2006, incorporating both the Cultural Capital's theme of "Celebrating our Diversity" and the City's attractive west coast lifestyle as positive components in the promotion. The marketing research, both locally and out of town, provided a better understanding of the local and potential visitor markets to the City, resulting in more effective overall promotion of arts and culture in the City during 2005/6 and in the future.

Projects included:

  • 2005 Market Research by Roger Barnes Marketing Planning
  • 2006 destination advertising campaigns in Vancouver, Seattle, Tacoma, Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Alberta markets.
  • Locally, the Arts, Heritage & Culture Guide is published three times a year.
  • "Secrets of the City Heritage Walking Tours" maps are now available

The City will continue to market the region with the ongoing production of the Arts, Heritage and Culture Guide made possible with the financial support of the City, sponsors and the participating arts, cultural and heritage organizations.
