Summit Park - Draft Management Plan

Summit Park is primarily a 4.5 hectare natural area. It is home to over 90 plant species, 40 of which are native, and has one of the largest Garry Oak meadows in Victoria. The park also features a small playground and trails.

The City of Victoria is developing a management plan to guide future improvements and create a park that meets the needs of the surrounding community, while ensuring the ecological integrity of the park is preserved. In October 2009, the public was invited to attend an Open House to comment on proposed improvements to Summit Park. Based on this earlier input, Parks staff have developed a draft management plan for the community to review and provide feedback.

The community was invited to drop by an Open House on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the S.J. Willis Alternative School to comment on display boards that illustrate the proposed new access to Summit Park, its boundaries, upgraded trails, and strategies to ensure the protection of sensitive areas. Participants were asked to provide input and complete a survey.
