2009 Park Upgrades

Below is a list of parks that were improved in 2009.

Hillside Park - Public meetings were held in 2008 to determine what the community would like to see improved at this park. Much of the work was completed in 2008. In 2009, work included park lights and the development of a naturalized landscape area along the west edge of the park.

Lewis Street Park - A public meeting was held in April 2009 for residents to learn more about proposed improvements for the park. Upgrades included three swings, new woodchip surfacing, a spinning play element, irrigation and renewed plantings.

Redfern Park - Feedback from public meetings in 2008 informed the development of a new park plan. Improvements included a reconfigured play space with new play equipment, swings, a social area, picnic tables, benches and several new trees.

Sumas Park - A public meeting was held in February 2009 for the neighbourhood to discuss improvements for the park. New play equipment, swings, a new seating area with 2 benches and a bike rack.
