2010 Park Upgrades

Highview and Blackwood Parks

Two City parks located in the Hillside-Quadra neighbourhood that provide almost a half hectare of combined green space and play areas in Victoria, were upgraded in 2010 based on community input.

Highview Park - Improvements included removing and replacing play equipment to meet safety standards; replacing the sand with wood chip safety surfacing in the play area, installing a granular pathway to provide easy access to a bench near the rocky areas, and relocating existing benches and a picnic table to better meet the needs of residents.

Blackwood Park - Improvements included removing and replacing play equipment to meet safety standards; planting new trees, improving the turf around the edge of the park, installing two new lights and one new picnic table, and installing new fencing along the north and west portions of the park.
