The Concrete Section is responsible for:

  • A variety of maintenance, construction and surfacing processes for sidewalks, malls, pathways and medians.
  • Construction of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalks.
  • Brick, interlocking paver and other patterned sidewalks.
  • Driveways.
  • Wheelchair ramps.
  • Bus stop pads.
  • Sidewalk grinding to eliminate tripping hazards.
  • Other sidewalk maintenance including small repairs and repair of water meter lids.
  • Installation of street furniture such as bike racks, benches, railings and planters.
  • Installation of concrete bases for lamp standards.
  • Rock, brick and block walls and wall caps, and rip rap placement for shoreline protection.
  • Masonry repairs.
  • Floor tiles including grouting and sealing.
  • Bollards.
  • Placement of shotcrete.

Tripping Hazards in Sidewalks
We welcome you to report the locations and conditions of tripping hazards either by telephone or email. Hazards are marked with bright paint until a crew can be scheduled to repair the sidewalk.
