On May 8, 2008 Council considered four options to manage the long term growth and development of Victoria's downtown area through a new Downtown Plan. As part of its decision making, Council directed City staff to prepare a new plan on the basis of Option 3 - Cross Town, with the inclusion of public park space and harbour pathway extensions adjacent to Rock By. City staff are now working on a draft version of the Downtown Plan that will reflect the vision and principles contained in Option 3. A draft version of the Plan is anticipated by the end of 2008.
