COVID-19 Provincial Support for Income & Disability Assistance
Due to COVID-19, new emergency measures are in place to ensure that people on income or disability assistance and low-income seniors, do not encounter additional barriers. Learn more.
COVID-19 Provincial Support for Students
Students attending British Columbia’s 25 public post-secondary institutions, who are experiencing emergency financial pressures, will benefit from a one-time investment of $3.5 million in emergency financial assistance. See the province's April 2, 2020 media release.
COVID-19 Provincial Support for Indigenous Students
The province is also providing an additional $1.5 million to supplement the Indigenous Emergency Assistance Fund for Indigenous students who are experiencing an unexpected financial emergency that may affect their ability to finish their studies. Indigenous students can contact the Indigenous Student Service Centre on campus, which will help with the application process. See the province's April 3, 2020 media release.
Safe Seniors, Strong Communities Program / BC 211
The province has launched a program that matches seniors who need support with non-medical essentials, to volunteers in their community who are willing to help. Learn more at bc211.ca.

BC Hydro COVID-19 Relief Fund
To support customers during these challenging times, BC Hydro has introduced the COVID-19 Relief Fund.
BC Transit is extending rear-door boarding of their buses until at least the end of April to enhance physical distancing measures and safeguards for transit drivers. Passengers with accessibility needs can still use the front door and ramp on buses. Fares will not be collected at this time. Learn more.
