PUBLIC HEARING: 1133 Fort Street: Rezoning Application
Following a Public Hearing, Council voted to approve a Rezoning Application for 1133 Fort Street to terminate the Land Use Contract and rezone the property to permit the current uses.

PUBLIC HEARING: 1002 Vancouver Street: Development Permit with Variances
Following a Public Hearing, Council voted to approve a Development Permit with Variances for 1002 Vancouver Street. This application will allow for the installation of a platform lift in the rear yard to lower waste bins from ground level to a basement holding area. Two parking spaces would be removed to create the basement holding area.

PUBLIC HEARING: 901 Gordon Street and 1150 Douglas Street: Rezoning Applications
Following a Public Hearing, Council voted to approve Rezoning Applications for 901 Gordon Street and 1150 Douglas Street. These applications permit the use of a Storefront Cannabis Retailer.

Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program – Grant Funding Application
Council has directed staff to submit a grant application for up to $2.1 million in funding for the Government Street North Bicycle Master Plan Project from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program - COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream.

Use of Parking Lot at 940 Caledonia Ave for Transitional Tiny Home Community
Council has authorized Aryze Developments to apply for a temporary use permit in relation to up to 36,000 sq. ft of the parking lot at 940 Caledonia Avenue for a temporary Transitional Tiny Home Community for up to 30 homes, with the aim that there is occupancy of the Tiny Home Community by no later than March 31. Staff will work with BC Housing to negotiate a proposed lease or licence of occupation at a nominal rate for the use of the site for the purpose of the Transitional Tiny Home Community.

Council has also directed staff to expedite the processing of the temporary use permit application and other applications associated with the Transitional Tiny Home Community at the site to be submitted by Aryze, and hold an opportunity for public comment.

Council Committee and Neighbourhood Liaison Appointments
Council adopted appointments for regional and civic service committees as well as neighbourhood liaisons. The full list of Council appointments can be found on individual Councillor web pages.

Emergency Social Services Grant - Meegan Community Care Tent
Council has allocated an Emergency Social Services Grant of $6,500 for “Meegan Community Care Tent” to the Red Cedar Café Association as the grant recipient and permit holder. The temporary site is now operational and providing outreach services on Cook Street near Dallas Road. The association has worked through the permit process with city staff and are required to implement all the necessary safety, fire prevention and COVID measures. Community outreach workers will provide humanitarian relief to people sheltering in Beacon Hill Park by offering a dry space to get warm, where people can connect with health workers, have a bite to eat and a coffee, and get a little respite from sheltering outside in the cold and wet.
