Town Halls

We hold four town hall events each year so that you can share what matters directly with Council.

Town Hall @ City Hall on Seniors

Canada's senior population is growing and it's important that our community is inclusive and age-friendly so that seniors can lead healthy and active lives, and stay involved.

Join us for our Town Hall @ City Hall on Seniors on Tuesday, February 4 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Victoria City Hall.

The focus of this town hall is aligned with the work of the City's Seniors Task Force, who will share their draft recommendations for a Seniors Action Plan at a series of upcoming open houses for public feedback.

The format of the Town Hall @ City Hall on Seniors will be as follows:

Tuesday, February 4
2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
View displays and learn more about the draft recommendations for the Seniors Action Plan.

3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Address City Council about seniors matters in Victoria. The Town Hall portion of the meeting will be webcast live. Free childminding will be available for up to two hours.

Town Hall @ VCC on Accessibility

Our second Town Hall was held at the Victoria Conference Centre on July 4, 2019 and focused on the topic of accessibility in the community. Thank you to everyone who was able to participate.

Your stories, suggestions and priorities will help Council and staff better understand the barriers and opportunities to make our community a more inclusive place to live, work, visit and play. The outcomes, topics and ideas generated at this session will contribute to the development of a new city-wide Accessibility Framework. The archived webcast is available here.

Town Hall @ City Hall

Our first Town Hall @ City Hall took place on June 6, 2019. It was an open format where participants set the agenda and Council was there to listen. Speakers were asked to submit presentation material in advance. Watch the archived webcast.
