Ring in the Year of the Tiger
February 1, 2022
It's the year of the Tiger! Tigers are a symbol of strength, authority, courage, and ambition. The year of the Tiger will be about making big changes, taking risks, adventure and gaining back some strength and energy after a tiring 2021.
While the annual Lunar New Year parade isn’t happening this year due to COVID-19, you're invited to celebrate by decorating your windows and doorways, wearing red and visiting local shops in Canada’s oldest Chinatown.
Decorating Doorways and Windows
Citizens in the City of Victoria and throughout the Region are invited to consider decorating their doorways and windows with New Year or red decorations from now until February 15, and that on Tuesday, February 1, we wear red to bring good luck and good health to all our communities.
