Volunteer on a City Advisory Committee

Periodically, the City of Victoria recruits members of the public to volunteer on various advisory committees and boards. The City is currently seeking individuals to serve on its Renters’ Advisory Committee, External Grant Review Committee and the Greater Victoria Public Library Board.

The Renters’ Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations to City Council on protecting and increasing rental housing and improving conditions for renters. We’re recruiting for five members of the public to serve a two-year term who have a professional and/or diverse background as renters or are working in the rental advocacy sector.

The External Grant Review Committee reviews and provides recommendations to City Council on Strategic Plan Grant applications to fund a range of community-based activities and services. We’re looking to fill two, one-year positions on the External Grant Review Committee. Potential candidates should not be affiliated with organizations that apply for the City’s annual Strategic Plan Grant.

The Greater Victoria Public Library Board oversees the joint management, maintenance, improvement and operation of 12 library branches in 10-member municipalities. We’re recruiting for one citizen-appointee to serve on the Board for a one-year term.

The deadline to apply is Friday, November 18, 2022. Those appointed by City Council will be contacted in December.
