What is the NeighbourHub?
Victoria’s NeighbourHub is a downtown space for Victoria residents to book community meetings and connect with the City.
It is intended to provide vital community meeting and gathering space for non-profit community organizations, helping to build civic capacity, provide Victoria residents with learning opportunities and support involvement in the community.
What’s at the NeighbourHub?
The NeighbourHub is located in the Crystal Garden at 709 and 711 Douglas Street. These are two connected spaces which can each accommodate boardroom tables of approximately 20 people.
The space includes:
- Accessible washroom
- 6’ tables (6)
- Chairs (30)
- White boards (7) and markers
- Projector stand and screen (1)
- Lounge furniture
- Lending library
- Community notice board
- Computers, projector
- Cooking equipment
Who can use the NeighbourHub?
Any organization or group of residents making a contribution to the community can book the space. This includes community associations, neighbourhood grant recipients, youth groups and others serving the interests of the community.
When is it available?
The space is available weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. It may be available outside business hours depending on staff availability.
Is it accessible?
Yes, both entrances are at ground level and accessible on both sides, but there is a 6” sill to step over between the two spaces.
Will there be staff at the NeighbourHub?
There will be neighbourhood staff available during weekday operating hours. They will help coordinate activities, organize learning events and provide other support where the space can be used to facilitate community development.
How can I book the space?
You can book the space here. You will need to create an account and user profile to use the booking system. A room code will be provided that will allow you access to the room.
