The City of Victoria Archives has a collection of thousands of images from a wide variety of sources. Many photographs are scanned and searchable through the Archives’ Online Search. Please note that these images represent only a small part of what the Archives has. The scanning of photos is ongoing and more are being added to the site over time.
The Archives also regularly displays photographs from the collection on the main floor of City Hall.
Image Reproduction
High quality digital reproductions of photographs and documents are available for purchase through the City Archives. These digital reproductions are for personal research and enjoyment only.
To order a digital reproduction, you will need an image number (i.e., ‘M00123’, ‘198608-03-1781’, or ‘PR 73-4950’). If you don’t have an image number, please contact City Archives.
You can place orders via email or mail. Complete and return the Image Reproduction Order Form below. Once your request is received, you will be contacted regarding payment details. Please note that the turn-around time for photo borders is five to 10 business days. Digital reproduction prices are $10 per file, not including taxes. All orders must be prepaid.

Image Use
The City Archives’ images are free to use for personal research and enjoyment. Images are also free to use for a variety of non-commercial purposes, though you need to obtain permission from the Archives in advance.
Commercial uses require permission, and a licensing fee will apply.
To apply for permission to use a City Archives’ image for either non-commercial or commercial purposes, please complete and return the Application for Permission and Licensing Agreement in advance of your project.

Once your application is received, you will receive written confirmation of approval. You will also be notified of any applicable licensing fees, which must be paid before the image is used.
