Colourful Victoria 150 summer banners celebrated the City's sesquicentennial.
Approximately 300 anniversary summer banners were installed on downtown lampposts in early April to help celebrate the City's sesquicentennial. Another 30 smaller banners were installed in Beacon Hill Park.
The festive 150th banners complemented downtown streets and featured colourful designs representing Victoria's trademark as the "City of Gardens," its vibrant arts and cultural scene, spectacular waterfront backdrop, and reputation as a world-class city.
With 57 arts, cultural and community-based 150th anniversary projects that were planned, in addition to the City's anniversary events and the many summer outdoor festivals and concerts downtown, 2012 was a "banner year" for celebrations in the Capital City.
