Summer Program Registration is Open

We're having fun and keeping it safe all summer long with City of Victoria recreation programs. Registration is now open for all summer programs. 

We're keeping outdoor fitness going this summer with Zumba, boot camps and yoga and Royal Athletic Park, plus outdoor spin classes in Central Park. We also have an exciting line-up of summer camps available. View the 2021 summer camps flyer.

The City of Victoria's fitness and aquatics centre is located at 2775 Quadra Street. Enjoy our 50-metre pool, two warm pools, 160-foot water slide, hot tub, weight room, cardio area and more.

BC's Restart

UPDATE: June 30, 2021 - We’re excited about B.C.’s move to Step 3 of the four-step Restart Plan to gradually and safely return to activities. We are seeking further guidance from provincial sport, recreation and health organizations so we can update our program plans.

Our focus continues to be on the health and safety of our staff and participants and we want to thank everyone for continuing to follow public health recommendations to keep themselves and others safe. Our current guidelines and protocols will remain in place and we ask for your patience as we roll out updated programs and service delivery plans.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Our priority is safety and all COVID-19 protocols are in place to create a safe environment for visitors and staff. Thank you for doing all you can during your visit to stay safe while you stay active.

Capacity is being managed to prevent crowding and limit contact points throughout the facility and visits are limited to 90 minutes.

When you arrive, you’ll wait outside until your booked time. A staff member will welcome you, check you in and answer any questions you may have before you enjoy your time in the pool or fitness areas.

Signs to inform you of capacity limits, pool rules and other helpful instructions are posted throughout the facility and our friendly staff are here to help.

Under public health requirements, masks are recommended in all indoor public spaces and should only be removed when showering or in the pool area.

Enhanced cleaning protocols which follow provincial guidelines are being used throughout all City of Victoria buildings, including Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre.

Please note, the sauna and steam room are currently closed and the hot tub maximum is two people or one household bubble at a time.

Daily use lockers are currently unavailable. Long-term locker rentals are available on request.

Arrive Ready to Swim or Workout

Due to occupancy limits and physical distancing requirements, our change rooms can only accommodate a small number of people at a time who are using the pool. If you are using the fitness areas you will not have access to the change rooms.

To accommodate all our patrons, everyone must move as quickly as possible through the change rooms. Showers are limited to a quick rinse before and after using the pool. Please do your personal grooming at home.

Swim Descriptions

50M Lengths

Swimmers share lanes with up to five people per single lane, or 10 people per double lane. Lanes are marked slow, continuous or fast. Choose the lane that best fits your needs and be prepared to adjust based on lifeguard direction. Please be changed and out of the facility by the end of your booked time.

25M Lengths

Swimmers share lanes with up to three people per single, or six people per double lane. Lanes will be marked slow, continuous or fast. Choose the lane that best fits your needs and be prepared to adjust based on lifeguard direction. Please be changed and out of the facility by the end of your booked time.

20M Lengths

A great option if you want dedicated space in the pool to do an activity of your choice (swim, therapy activities, etc.) apart from others. 20M lanes will be set up as singles for one person. Please be changed and out of the facility by the end of your booked time.

25M Therapy/Rehab

This new option is intended for people who need deep water space for therapy or rehabilitation exercises. This will be shared space with up to four therapy/rehab participants. Appropriate use includes deep water running, stretch/strength exercises, and very gentle swimming. This space is not intended for continuous length swimming. Please be changed and out of the facility by the end of your booked time.

Adult Leisure (16+)

Space will be open in the main pool for adults (16 years+) to do independent leisure activities (water walking, therapy, gentle exercises, etc.). Participants are responsible for sharing space and ensuring physical distancing. The sauna and steam room are closed but the hot tub will be open.

Please note, due to size, the hot tub maximum is reduced so access will be limited. If you want access to swim lanes, please book a 50M, 25M or 20M Length Swim instead of Adult Leisure. Please be changed and out of the facility by the end of your booked time.

Shallow Water Aquafit

A cardio and strength workout that is low impact and customizable for all fitness levels. Please be mindful to keep distanced from other participants and the instructor throughout the class. 

Aqualite

Aqualite is a gentle Aquafit class that focuses on flexibility, range of motion, and stability while increasing fitness. Please be mindful to keep distanced from other participants and the instructor throughout the class.

Shallow Cardio Blast Aquafit

A more challenging class that focuses on high energy cardio moves and strength work. Please be mindful to keep distanced from other participants and the instructor throughout the class. 

Parent & Tot

During this time, the warm pools are set aside for adults with children 0-5 years old. Each adult may bring 1-3 children per visit. Remember, children 0-5 years must be within arm’s reach throughout the swim.

NEW  To help us better track attendance, we are now asking that adult(s) and child(ren) register for this swim. Preschool age children qualify for free registration.

Family & Youth Swim

Book time to play in the main pool and warm pools. 25M lanes will be booked by length swimmers and the rest of the pool will be available. Please note, children 12 and under are required to have an adult in the water during this swim (under 7s within arm’s reach). One adult may only supervise 1-3 children (0-5 years). No specific space will be assigned and our warm pools are small, so participants are asked to be mindful of others and take turns in the warm pool/main pool. If you are looking for extra fun, book on Saturday or Sunday at 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. for extra games and features.

NEW – To help us better track attendance, please register each person attending this swim regardless of age. Children 0-5 years old qualify for free registration. If you are attending as a family (up to two adults and up to three children), a family rate discount will be applied when booking.

Fitness Classes

Body Sculpt

This low intensity, full body strength building class will tone your muscles and shape your body. 

Stretch, Strength & Abs

This stationary class focuses on core strength and muscle development through low-intensity exercises. It is designed to tone and lengthen the body through stretching and mat work.

Fitness Visit 

Things look a little different in our fitness spaces but we have worked hard to ensure you have access to all the great cardio and weight training equipment you need to meet your fitness goals while ensuring we follow the Provincial Health guidelines for physical distancing. During your fitness visit you will have access to the weight room, fit pit, fitness loft and various cardio equipment around the mezzanine.

We are not currently offering memberships. Previous facility memberships were cancelled and refunds or account credit were applied in spring 2020.

There are no changes to the LIFE Pass, which expire two years from the time of issue. For new LIFE Pass applicants or renewals, please contact reception at crystalpool@victoria.ca or 250.361.0732.
