March Registration Now Open

Registration for March pool and fitness visits is now open. Registration remains open for February pool and fitness visits as well, and for our recreation programs. 

The City of Victoria's fitness and aquatics centre is located at 2775 Quadra Street. Enjoy our 50-metre pool, two warm pools, 160-foot water slide, hot tub, weight room, cardio area, fitness and aquafit classes and more.

Due to public health requirements and capacity limits, registration is required, so please book ahead.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Our priority is safety, and all COVID-19 protocols are in place to create a safe environment for visitors and staff. Thank you for doing all you can during your visit to stay safe while you stay active.

Capacity is being managed to prevent crowding and limit contact points throughout the facility, and visits are limited to 90 minutes.

When you arrive, you’ll wait outside until your booked time. A staff member will welcome you, check you in, and answer any questions you may have before you enjoy your time in the pool or fitness areas.

Signs to inform you of capacity limits, pool rules, and other helpful instructions are posted throughout the facility, and our friendly staff are here to help.

Under public health requirements, masks are required in all indoor public spaces and should only be removed when showering, in the pool, or while participating in a sport or fitness activity.

Enhanced cleaning protocols which follow provincial guidelines are being used throughout all City of Victoria buildings, including Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre.

Please note, the sauna and steam room are currently closed, and the hot tub maximum is two people or one household bubble at a time.

Daily use lockers are currently unavailable. Long-term locker rentals are available on request.

 

Arrive Ready to Swim or Workout

Due to occupancy limits and physical distancing requirements, our change rooms can only accommodate a small number of people at a time who are using the pool. If you are using the fitness areas, you will not have access to the change rooms.

To accommodate all our patrons, everyone must move as quickly as possible through the change rooms. Showers are limited to a quick rinse before and after using the pool. Please do your personal grooming at home.

Swim Descriptions

50M Lengths

Book a spot to swim during 50M length set up. Swimmers will share lanes with up to five people per single lane, or 10 people per double lane. Lanes will be marked slow, continuous or fast. Swimmers should choose the lane that best fits their needs upon arrival and be prepared to adjust based on lifeguard direction. 

25M Lengths

Book a spot to swim during 25M length set up. Swimmers will share lanes with up to three people per single, or six people per double lane. Lanes will be marked slow, continuous or fast. Swimmers should choose the lane that best fits their needs upon arrival and be prepared to adjust based on lifeguard direction.

20M Lengths

A great option if you want dedicated space in the pool to do an activity of your choice (swim, therapy activities, etc.) apart from others. 20M lanes will be set up as singles for one person. 

Adult Leisure (16+)

Space will be open in the main pool for adults (16 years+) to do independent leisure activities, such as water walking, therapy, gentle exercises, etc. Participants are responsible for sharing space and ensuring physical distancing. The sauna and steam room are closed, but the hot tub will be open. Please note, the hot tub maximum capacity is currently reduced so access will be limited.

Shallow Water Aquafit

Book a spot to participate in this class. A cardio and strength workout that is low impact and customizable for all fitness levels. An instructor will lead you through the workout. Please be mindful to keep distanced from other participants throughout the class.

Aqualite

Book a spot to participate in our Aqualite class. Aqualite is a gentle Aquafit class that focuses on flexibility, range of motion, and stability while increasing fitness. An instructor will lead you through the exercises. Please be mindful to keep distanced from other participants throughout the class.

Parent & Tot

During this time, the warm pools are set aside for adults with children under five to play. Each adult may bring up to three children (0-5 years) during their booking. Please register the adult only - children under five do not need to register as their access is free. Please remember, children 0-5 years must be within arm’s reach throughout the swim.

Family Swim

25M lanes will be booked by length swimmers, but the rest of the pool will be available. Families can book time to play in the main pool and warm pools. Please note, children 12 and under are required to have an adult in the water during this swim (children under 7 must be within arm’s reach). No specific space will be assigned, so participants are asked to be mindful of others and share the space.

Everyone Welcome Swim

Minimal lanes will be set up for length swimming, so the majority of the pool will be available for fun and activity, including the diving boards! Please note, children 12 and under are required to have an adult in the water during this swim (children under 7 must be within arm’s reach). No specific space will be assigned, so participants are asked to be mindful of others and play safe.

Things look a little different in our fitness spaces but we have worked hard to ensure you have access to all the great cardio and weight training equipment you need to meet your fitness goals while ensuring we follow the Provincial Health guidelines for physical distancing. During your fitness visit you will have access to the weight room, fit pit, fitness loft (when classes aren't in session) and various cardio equipment around the mezzanine. 

 

Modified Group Fitness Classes

Registration is required. Space and registration numbers are being managed to support physical distancing during fitness activities.

Stretch, Strength and Abs

This stationary class focuses on core strength and muscle development through low-intensity exercises. Tone and lengthen the body through stretching and mat work.

Body Sculpt

This low intensity, full body strength building class will tone your muscles and shape your body.

We are not currently offering memberships. Previous facility memberships were cancelled and refunds or account credit were applied in spring 2020.

There are no changes to the LIFE Pass, which expire two years from the time of issue. For new LIFE Pass applicants or renewals, please contact reception at crystalpool@victoria.ca or 250.361.0732.

Booking Tips for Families

Children 0-5 years old are free and do not need to register (they will attend with the registered adult). One adult may supervise up to three children only (0-5 years). Children age 6 and up should be registered at a child rate.

Swimming with multiple adults/children over five years? Choose the family rate rather than paying individual admission rates for each person. The family rate includes two adults and up to three children/youth, or one adult and up to four children/youth. These rates are only available for Family and Everyone Welcome swim times.

Please follow current provincial health orders when considering who to book as part of your family unit.

 

Welcome Back to Registered Programs

Your favorite programs have been adapted to provide a safe and fun experience.

In the pool, we’re offering all our Red Cross Swim lessons and Tyee Swim Club programs.

For children and youth, we are offering piano lessons, home alone and babysitters courses with reduced class sizes, and our pro-d day and spring break camps are returning to Crystal Pool. A new Dungeons and Dragons program provides a safe social opportunity for youth.

For adult fitness, Janice is back with your Hatha and Lunchtime Yoga programs, and new programs provide social and fitness opportunities designed to meet your personal health goals while following all health regulations. Missing the range of motion hot yoga provided? Join us for warm water aqua yoga. Meditation Art in Motion adapts belly dance to focus on the movements for core strengthening. Are you 50 plus? Strength, Stretch and Balance or ESSENTRICS© Aging Backwards are tailored to your needs.

Not ready to come back yet? We have programs for you too! Join the Fun for Life community from home by taking memoir writing or watercolour colour classes delivered on Zoom. When you’re ready to join us in-person again we’ll be here to welcome you back.
