Gonzales

Old Mansions and Gonzales Bay
Bordered by the water and Oak Bay, Gonzales is a residential neighbourhood filled with old mansions and tree-lined streets.
This neighbourhood is named for Spanish explorer Gonzalo Lopez de Haro, first mate of the Spanish ship Princesa Real, who helped chart the waters around Vancouver Island in 1790.
The neighbourhood has a rich inventory of heritage homes and several beaches including the picturesque Gonzales Bay. It is also home to the Gonzales Hill Observatory, a protected natural landscape that offers spectacular views.
