Summit Park is a 4.48 hectare community park with one of the largest remaining stands of Garry oak ecosystems in the City of Victoria. The small playground at Summit Park was installed in 1975, and will be replaced in 2019. The playground consists of swings and a small climber.
Improvements in Summit Park are guided by the Summit Park Management Plan (2011). The plan recommends upgrading the playground in its current location, and selecting new play equipment in colours that blend into and enhance the beautiful natural setting of this ecological area. Here is the timeline for this playground renewal project.
In October 2018, the community was invited to have a say on what they wanted to see in the playground area for Summit Park. Construction is anticipated to start in Spring 2019.
