Water, Sewer & Stormwater
The City's underground infrastructure is essential to delivering key public services including water, sewer and stormwater management.
CRD Wastewater Treatment Projects
The CRD’s Wastewater Treatment Plant includes construction of a cross-harbour underwater pipe from Ogden Point to McLoughlin Point. The undersea pipe will move wastewater from Oak Bay, and areas in Saanich and Victoria to the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.
According to CRD timelines, this work will take just over a year to complete and will take place from both sides of Victoria Harbour using a process called horizontal directional drilling. Two drill locations will be used: one at McLoughlin Point, and the second at Ogden Point near the James Bay Anglers Boat Ramp.
Anticipated work hours as communicated by the CRD are Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and on Saturday from 10am to 7pm and fall within the appropriate timelines outlined in the City of Victoria’s noise bylaws.
Construction on the Clover Point Pump Station is anticipated to begin in early 2018 after the design has been completed. The Clover Point Pump Station will be complete in 2020. For more information about this project visit: https://www.crd.bc.ca/project/capital-projects/clover-point-pump-station
