Grand Opening of Central Park Outdoor Fitness Circuit
September 30, 2013
The new outdoor fitness circuit at Central Park, located next to the playground off Quadra and Pembroke Streets, will officially open to the community at a celebratory event on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 11 a.m. - noon.
The community is invited to join Mayor Dean Fortin, Debora Linehan, Regional Vice President for the Royal Bank of Canada, RBC Hudson staff, and Mike Hennessy, Executive Director of Tire Stewardship BC for a special presentation, joint ribbon-cutting and plaque unveiling to mark the official opening of this new recreational amenity in Victoria.
Take the opportunity to participate in a free orientation of the exercise equipment with personal trainers Jonathan and Michelle Carpenter of MIJO Sport. Dress to work out – and for the weather – as the event will take place rain or shine. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
The Central Park Outdoor Fitness Circuit is designed to provide free and accessible physical fitness for the community and is a legacy that marks two important milestones – the City of Victoria's 150th and the RBC Hudson's (formerly the Douglas Street Branch) 100th anniversaries in 2012.
