Council Appointment to Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board

The City of Victoria is seeking a candidate to serve on the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board.

A Police Board establishes goals, priorities and objectives, and develops the budget for the Police Department. The Board is also responsible for service and policy complaints related to the Police Department.

Candidates must:

  • reside in the City of Victoria
  • undergo a criminal record check and personal suitability interview
  • be expected to commit 20 to 30 hours a month to fulfill board duties

The term for this appointment is a minimum of one year and may be extended or renewed for up to six consecutive years.

Candidates should have an understanding of governance, as well as experience in business, financial management, administration and community development.
