New Online Event Feedback Form
September 11, 2014
The Capital City is the place to be to enjoy outdoor summer festivals and special events. A new online event feedback form provides the public with an easy way to submit comments on the festivals and events they attend, plan to attend, or are held near their home or business.
Feedback helps the City and event organizers improve future programming and to minimize impacts to surrounding neighbourhoods such as noise, reduced parking or road closures. The new online form is easy to use and enables the public to include a photo or document with their submission, as well as request a response if required.
The community is invited to share what they liked about an event or what needs to be improved by visiting: www.victoria.ca/eventfeedback.
Festivals and special events are an important part of urban life, especially in a city known for its culture and heritage. They provide economic and social benefits to the community, which are most apparent in the attraction of tourists and visitors, but also foster community pride and provide opportunities for the community to come together, interact and have fun. The City strives to strike a balance between serving the needs of its citizens and contributing to the community’s vibrancy and vitality.
Over the past 15 years, the City has provided $1.66 million to local non-profit arts and cultural organizations by way of its Festival Investment Grant. The program is designed to nurture outdoor festivals and celebrations held in the Capital City, facilitate their growth and ensure their continued success.
The public can also provide feedback by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to: #121 – 1925 Blanshard Street, Victoria, BC V8T 4J2.
