Parking Ambassador Recruitment
September 15, 2015
The City is recruiting for the positons of Parking Ambassadors, positions attractive to customer-focused individuals, who are passionate about serving the public and understand the importance a positive parking experience has on downtown business, neighbourhoods and visitors to Victoria.
These positions will be of interest to those who are organized, flexible and like to work outdoors. Individuals will need to be strong communicators, approachable, and skilled at providing information and customer service.
In addition to guiding safe and high turn-over on-street parking, Parking Ambassadors will provide directions, and provide more “eyes and ears” on the street, reporting service needs such graffiti or an overflowing garbage bin. They will be knowledgeable of Victoria’s businesses and landmarks, City programs and services, and will help connect residents and visitors with destinations and information.
There are openings for 13 full-time and six part-time Parking Ambassadors positions available, some with evening and weekend shifts. Ambassadors will be unionized staff, represented by CUPE Local 50. The City offers a comprehensive training and orientation program for these important front-line positions. Recruitment will occur in September and training and orientation will start in early December.
You can apply here. Applications and/or resumes are accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 18.
