Remembrance Day Holiday Hours and Parking

The Canadian flag at City Hall and all City buildings will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, November 11 to recognize Remembrance Day and honour those who have served. For information on locations of Remembrance Day ceremonies around the region, click here.

Holiday Hours and Parking

City of Victoria facilities, except for police, fire and those who provide emergency streets and utility services, will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 for Remembrance Day.

Kitchen Scraps and Garbage Collection
Kitchen Scraps and Garbage collection will not occur on Wednesday, November 11. You can view your Kitchen Scraps and Garbage Collection Schedule here.

Garden Waste Drop-Off
City of Victoria residents can drop off their garden waste, year-round at the Public Works Yard at 417 Garbally Road, Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please bring a City of Victoria utility bill or a driver’s licence which shows residence at a property that has Kitchen Scraps and Garbage service.

The garden waste drop-off area will be open on Saturday, November 14. This service is not for commercial use. For more information, call 250.361.0400 or click here.

Emergency Streets and Utilities Services
Emergency streets and utility services are not affected by the holiday and can be contacted day or night at 250.385.5711.

Parking at City parkades and at on-street meters downtown will be free on Wednesday, November 11. Pay parking at the City's surface parking lots is in effect 24/7. For more information about parking downtown, click here.
