Work Underway to Replace a Roof at City Hall

Update on Roof Replacement at the West End of City Hall

Work is underway to replace the roof above the Council Chambers, the Antechamber, Councillor offices and the Songhees and Esquimalt meeting rooms at City Hall. This is regular maintenance that is needed to replace the aging roof.

This work is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.  Staff and visitors will see the largest impacts this week as the old roof is removed. The large crane will be onsite for the remainder of the week.

Access to City Hall
All public entrances to City Hall remain open. The sidewalk on the City Hall side of Pandora Avenue will remain open and two flag people will be onsite this week assisting pedestrians safely past where the crane is working.

To accommodate the cranes, the two 15 minute City Hall guest parking spots have been moved east up Pandora Avenue towards the corner of Government Street.  The one hour free parking outside of the DouglasStreet entrance has not been affected.  Additional street parking on Pandora has been removed to accommodate this work.
