Celebrate Summer with Free Outdoor Concerts and Performances

With 100 days of free outdoor live music, Victoria is the place to find your summer groove! Enjoy free lunchtime and evening concerts, and a variety of outdoor festivals and events in Centennial Square and Beacon Hill Park this summer.

Summer in the Square Lunchtime Concerts
Join us Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. to enjoy free live music from July 5 to September 15, 2016. Bring your lunch and some sunscreen and soak up some sun and tunes. From folk, world beat and jazz to baroque and blues, there’s something for everyone. This is the 17th year that the City of Victoria has hosted free lunchtime concerts in Centennial Square for the community to enjoy.

Eventide Music Series
The Eventide Music Series offers free live music in Centennial Square every Thursday night 6 – 9 p.m. from July 7 – September 1, with a special kick-off night at Ship Point on June 30. The series features an eclectic mix of independent local and visiting musicians and artists. Themed nights range from folk, pop, indie-rock to hip-hop, funk, punk, electronic and experimental. Food trucks and a licensed beverage area complement these all-ages outdoor events in Centennial Square. The Eventide Music Series is presented by the Downtown Victoria Business Association, the City of Victoria and the University of Victoria’s CFUV Community Campus Radio.

Cameron Bandshell
Located off Arbutus and Bridge Ways in Beacon Hill Park, Cameron Bandshell hosts dance, theatre, band and choral performances, as well as a variety of community events. Bench seating and the surrounding grassy areas are the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the performances.
Free concerts take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 p.m. – 3:20 p.m., and Mondays from noon – 1 p.m., through to September 11. New in 2016 is the Folk Music Evening Series, running Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Whether you like folk, jazz or blues, classical or swing, there’s something for everyone.

Children’s Concerts in the Park
This popular series returns on Wednesdays July 13, 20 and 27, and August 3, 10 and 17 from 11 a.m. – noon. Pack a picnic, sunscreen and a blanket and enjoy performances by Marvellous Mind-boggling Magic by Paul and Shayne, The Brass Experience, Enchanted Fables, Tickles the Clown and Family, Oliver’s Old-time Banjo Hour, and The Puppet Booth.
