Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Victoria

Tomorrow the City of Victoria will join others across the nation as we lower the Canadian flag to half-mast in recognition of Remembrance Day to honour the men and women who have served our country. Mayor Helps will join veterans tomorrow at the public ceremony taking place at the cenotaph on the lawns near the Parliament Buildings. City Hall will be closed tomorrow for Remembrance Day, reopening on Monday at 8 a.m. Streets will be closed at times to vehicular traffic around the assembly areas.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies

Remembrance Day Gun Salute

Start: 10am

Finish: 12pm

Location: 900 Wharf Street (parking lot).


Annual Parade and Remembrance Ceremony

Start: 10am

Finish: 1pm

Location: Wharf, Government, Belleville, Menzies and the Legislature Grounds.

Please note: Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic near the assembly area (Wharf from Broughton to Government) and (Humboldt from Government to Gordon) and on Belleville.


Canadian Scottish Remembrance Day Parade

Start: 11:40am

Finish: 1pm

Location: Humboldt to Bay Street Armoury via Pioneer Square 

Please note: Following participation in the Remembrance Day ceremony, participants will parade to Pioneer Square for a ceremony at the cenotaph via Humboldt, Douglas, Courtney and returning to the May Street Armouries via Quadra, Yates, Douglas and Bay Street.
