Construction on Pandora Avenue
April 20, 2017
Starting on Friday night at 6 p.m. traffic signal and line painting work will take place on Pandora Avenue between Cook Street and Wharf Street as the protected bike lane project nears completion. The public can expect traffic disruptions, including lane closures and turning restrictions.
Line painting work will begin on Friday at 6 p.m. and will continue through the weekend and into next week depending on the weather. During this work, the public can expect lane closures along the corridor as the new markings are installed. Work in the intersections will be scheduled outside of traffic times to minimize disruption. The public is encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.
Traffic signal work will take place on Sunday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Pandora Avenue/Wharf Street and Johnson Street/Wharf Street intersections, and on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Cook Street/Pandora Avenue intersection.
Victoria’s first protected bike lanes along Pandora Avenue from Cook Street to Wharf Street are scheduled to open early next month. The project includes a two-way, physically protected bike lane with new traffic signals for bikes with a combination of on-street parking spaces, bollards, and paint used to separate the bike lanes from vehicle traffic.
