BC Day Holiday Hours and Parking

City of Victoria facilities will be observing the holiday schedule below for the BC Day long weekend. Police, fire and those who provide emergency streets and utility services are available 24/7.

Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre -- FREE Admission, Swim and Community BBQ
To celebrate 100 years of representing workers and serving the community, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 50 will be sponsoring a free swim and community barbecue on BC Day, Monday, August 6 at the Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre. Admission to the Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre will be free all day (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) for all patrons.

The free community barbecue will begin at 11 a.m. in Central Park. CUPE Local 50 members will be supplying and serving hot dogs and refreshments until supplies run out. CUPE Local 50 is proud to sponsor this community event. Learn more.

Kitchen Scraps and Garbage Collection

Saturday Garden Waste Drop-Off
On Saturday, August 4, the Garden Waste Drop-Off at the Public Works Yard will be open from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Learn more about this residential service. 

Emergency Streets and Utilities Services
Emergency streets and utility services are not affected by the holiday and can be contacted day or night at 250.361.0400.

Parking
Parking downtown at on-street meters and at City parkades will be free on Sunday, August 5 and Monday, August 6 for BC Day. Pay parking is in effect at the City's surface parking lots 24/7. Learn more about parking downtown.
