Half-Masting: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women - December 6

The Canadian flag at City Hall and on all City buildings will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, December 6, 2018 to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

December 6 is observed nationally to commemorate the day 14 young women were killed in an act of gender-based violence in Montreal in 1989. It is also an opportunity to reflect and take action on the disproportionate levels of violence that women continue to face around the world today.
