It's BC Tsunami Preparedness Week - Learn to be Tsunami Ready!
April 9, 2018
To kick off BC Tsunami Preparedness Week (April 8 - 14, 2018), we're hosting a Be Tsunami Smart Information Session tonight at City Hall. Registration is now full.
Although tsunamis are rare, it’s important to understand what a tsunami is, the impact of a tsunami on Victoria, and what to do in the event of a tsunami warning.
- Check out the Tsunami Information for the Capital Region brochure/map to see if you're in the zone and what you need to do to be 'tsunami ready'.
- Sign up for Vic-Alert, the City of Victoria's free emergency notification service to receive alerts by text, phone and email about emergencies that may impact you.
- Attend a free Emergency Preparedness Workshop at City Hall. The next workshop is Wednesday, April 25 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Register at emvic@victoria.ca or call 250.920.3373.
